Restylane and Low Risk of Allergic Reaction

BoldMany people enjoy the quick beauty lift and non-invasive quality that cosmetic fillers offer. In the past, collagen was the primary filler available, and worries existed regarding allergic reactions that could develop even after the collagen had been in for a while. Today’s fillers virtually eliminate these worries.

A Naturally-Occurring Substance
Restylane is a cosmetic filler that is based on hyaluronic acid. It is FDA-approved for treating the lines and folds that develop on the aging face. The substance has qualities that make it last a long time, and it is technically classified as a NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) gel. It can also be used to augment the lips. Perlane is a similar filler that is thicker to give better results in correcting deep wrinkles.

Low Allergy Risk
The hyaluronic acid used for facial rejuvenation is almost exactly the same as the hyaluronic acid found naturally in the body. This takes away virtually any risk of the patient having an allergic reaction, and eliminates the need for the pre-treatment skin test required of collagen users. Already, over 1.5 million Restylane treatments have been performed nationally. Dr. Rosen provides Restylane and other fillers in his Norwalk, Connecticut office.

The rapid, low-pain quality of the injections and the immediate results make Restylane attractive to many patients. Once placed, Restylane works together with your body’s own hyaluronic acid to create a more youthful appearance. Typical results will last four to eight months.

If you are interested in exploring what Restylane can do to enhance your appearance, please email our cosmetic surgery office or call us at 203-899-0000 to schedule a consultation.
