Where on my face can I get facial implants?
The most common locations for facial implants are the chin and cheek bone areas followed by the nose.
What type of implants are used?
There are multiple different types of implants, but silicone implants are the most commonly used facial implants.
Why would I get a facial implant?
Individuals with smaller chins, and people with thin faces without definition to the cheek area are the most common patients. Small chins make the nasal area look larger, therefore it is quite common for the plastic surgeon to bring out that finding at the consultation for a rhinoplasty that the patient should consider a chin augmentation. The same idea applies to an individual who wants a facelift for aging, and does not have the definition in the cheek bone area or wants more definition to his or her jaw line.
What is the recovery for facial implants like?
Usually, recover is well tolerated. A 5 day period is commonly sufficient depending on what other procedure is performed at the same time.
