Counteracting the visible effects of aging can seem like a never-ending battle. While there are many surgical options to reduce the appearance of aging skin, surgery isn’t right for everyone. For these people, Dr. Rosen offers injectable treatments to restore a youthful and rested appearance to the face. Injectables can be used to treat the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, thin lips, and shallow contours such as hollowed cheeks and recessed scars.
Achieved With Injectables
Elimination of Wrinkles and Fine Lines
Over the years, our faces take a beating. Genetics, sun damage, and the loss of collagen and elasticity all result in lackluster skin that is prone to wrinkling, fine lines, and deep creases. Injectables reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds (parentheses lines), crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles to reveal smooth and youthful skin.
Fuller, More Defined Facial Features
You begin to lose the natural fullness of your facial features as you age. This loss leads to an aged and tired appearance. Whether you have lost the youthful fat on your cheekbones or the fullness of your lips, injectables can restore definition and fullness to your appearance.
With the presence of wrinkles and other signs of aging comes self-esteem issues and insecurities. The results that come from injectables don’t just help you look better aesthetically, but they also enhance your confidence. No longer will you feel like you need to shy away from seeing the people close to you because of your appearance. Instead, you can prepare yourself to shine at gatherings with your enhanced youthfulness and confidence.

Fat transfer involves removing fat from one area of the body using surgical liposuction and then injecting the purified fat to enhance the face, buttocks, or breasts with a natural appearance.
Injectables and fillers are non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation (with the exception of fat transfer due to its use of liposuction). Redness, swelling, bruising, and itching may be present in the hours and days after the procedure. These injections require no downtime, and you can return to work and your normal schedule immediately following the procedure. Avoid the sun following injections, and always wear sunscreen.
As injectables are non-surgical treatments, no scars will be present at any of the injection sites. Small incisions are created at the liposuction site for fat transfer, which may result minor scarring that should fade over time.
The cost of your procedure will vary depending on the type and amount of filler or injectable used. Dr. Rosen and his staff will provide you with an accurate cost estimate during your consultation.
Frequently Asked QuestionsSchedule a Consultation
How long do injectables last?
Injectables are temporary solutions for the improvement of aging concerns, such as wrinkles, fine lines, and sunken features. The length of results depends on the type of injectable used. JUVÉDERM® is known to last up to 12 months, whereas JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC can last up to 18 months. BOTOX® Cosmetic generally lasts between three and six months. Fat transfer, however, provides results that are generally permanent. Dr. Rosen will provide additional information on the duration of your results during your consultation, and injectables can be repeated as necessary.
Am I a candidate for injectables and fillers?
Candidates for injectables should be at least 21 years of age and be physically healthy, non-smoking individuals with realistic expectations of their results. Candidates for fat transfer must have adequate fat for liposuction and be healthy enough to undergo surgery.
Is anesthesia used during the procedure?
Injectables and fillers are not surgical and do not require anesthesia. However, Dr. Rosen may numb the area with a numbing cream before the injection to reduce any discomfort. Fat transfer may be performed under light general anesthesia or sedation.
How do the results of injectables compare to surgery?
Injectables provide a noticeable improvement to the common signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet, thin lips, and sunken cheeks. This being said, injectables are temporary and cannot always reach the same level of improvement as facial surgery. Injectables, however, are ideal for those patients who do not wish to undergo invasive surgery, have only small amounts of visible aging, or want to try out cosmetic procedures.
What are the complications associated with injectables?
Complications are rare with injectables, though they are possible. These complications can include:
- Skin redness
- Skin rash
